Nutrition and Liver Disease in Peroxisomal Biogenesis Disorders: Diagnosis and Management
A two-part webinar series

Live Webinar Part I: Liver – March 31, 2020, 8:00PM ET
Live Webinar Part II: Nutrition – April 6, 2020, 8:00PM ET

The NASPGHAN Foundation and the Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders are pleased to present two 30-minute webinars. On March 31, we will discuss the latest treatment options for liver disease. On April 6, we will discuss nutrition regimens designed to optimize the management of affected patients.

Supported by an educational grant from Retrophin.

INTRODUCTION
ZSD affects multiple body organs with a spectrum of presentations depending upon severity of the injury to the affected organs. Liver disease and nutrition are two areas of importance to patients and families of patients with ZSD.

During the first webinar on March 31, Dr. Heubi will provide an overview of the function of the liver in health and how to assess liver function. He will discuss how liver disease and its progression may be identified in affected ZSD patients, the potential cause of the liver disease in ZSD, how it is diagnosed and potential therapy.

During the second webinar on April 6, Dr. Fleet will provide an overview of typical growth and development in children, and feeding challenges seen in those with ZSD.  She will review different nutrition management options for malnutrition in ZSD.

The goal of these webinars is to improve caregiver and patient knowledge of liver disease and nutrition in ZSD so they can be better advocates for the care of patients with ZSD.
